    Below are some questions and answers that we hope will help you from the booking process all the way until your holiday has ended. Of course, if you have any other questions please contact us directly at colleen@takeabreakrentals.com. The questions have been organised in a timeline.

    1. Before you Book

    • How to book?

    Once the dates and rates have been confirmed and you have informed us of your ages, let us know that you would like to proceed and we will send the booking form with payment instructions. We require the deposit to be paid and the booking form to be filled in and sent back. Once we have received the deposit we will send the confirmation along with maps and other useful information.


    • How to get the key?

    Where possible we meet and greet all our clients at the property booked. If we are unable to meet, you will be advised by email on how to access the property.


    • Are towels and bed linen provided?

    All the properties have bed linen, bath and pool towels included in the rate. The only exception is Colinas del Paraiso, for which a €20 refundable deposit per pool towel is required.


    • Is there a hair dryer?

    Yes every property has a standard hair dryer.


    • Do you allow pets?

    Unfortunately we don't.


    • What is the refundable security deposit for?

    This is held against breakages, excessive mess on departure and excessive noise/complaints from the neighbours. If paid by credit card, the refund can take up to 48 hours for apartments and a week for villas.


    • Why are flight details and contact number required?

    This is to help organise the day of arrival and to check on the day any delays or early arrivals (it does happen) Once you have landed and we have not heard from you at all, we will try to get in touch.


    • Is health insurance coverage needed?

    If you are an EU resident, you are entitled to state-provided healthcare through your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) but it only covers up to a certain amount. If you need to go to the local health centre or nearest public hospital, DON'T FORGET to take your EHIC and passport with you.

    For non-EU citizens, then health insurance is advisable. Please make sure before travelling that you know the name of your insurance company and try to find out the nearest clinic and hospital to where you are staying - We can help with this.


    • Do we need to hire a car?

    It really depends on the property location and reason for holiday. Remember as well as the great weather, beaches and golf there is the whole of Andalucia to explore. Generally for the Puerto Banus and San Pedro beachside areas, we say a car is not necessary as the local amenities are either a short walk or short taxi ride away. For the villas, it is recommended and with V003 and properties in Colinas del Paraiso it is necessary.


    2. Once you are here

    -When can the property be accessed?

    We cannot guarantee check-in before 16:00 hrs at time of booking, especially during the summer months. We will let you know before your travel date what time we can meet you. In some cases you can pay for a guaranteed early check in

    -Why all the maps and GPS co-ordinates?

    Addresses over here don't work very well with the SAT NAV systems. Over the years we have found the most fail proof system is either inputting the GPS co-ordinates or using our printable maps or the google map link provided in the confirmation email.

    -Why all the text messages on landing and leaving the airport?

    This is to help co-ordinate and narrow down the time of your arrival at the property. Unfortunately once landed, delays can be encountered and as we are a small team we cannot have a team member kept waiting for long periods. Once we know you are on the road to the property, we can make sure we are there before you with the minimum time spent waiting. Without that text no one will be at the property waiting for you and you will then have to wait for us.

    -Food shopping?

    If you are arriving early morning or late at night we can provide a small welcome pack to tide you over (1 bottle of wine, 2 bottles of 1.5l water, 1 carton of juice, 6 cans of coke, 1 loaf of bread, 1 butter, 1 packet of ham, 1 packet of cheese, 6 eggs, coffee, tea, 1 carton of milk, sugar, biscuits, jam) There are many local supermarkets close to all our properties and a late night chain, Open Cor/Super Cor. The local supermarkets don't carry a large selection of International brands. If you require these, HiperCor within the Corte Ingles is a safe bet or for the British, Iceland by Puerto Banus.

    -What about baby equipment/food?

    Travelling with children can be hard (we know from experience) At a weekly cost of €20 we can provide a travel cot (with only a base sheet) and high chair. For other equipment or International products please check http://totsstore.com/ Iceland in Puerto Banus also has a small selection of products sold in England as does HiperCor in Corte Ingles.

    -What to do if there is damage to the property on arrival?

    It is unlikely that you may encounter damage of which we are unaware, BUT in the rare event that this occurs please let us know immediately so there is a record of it and also so we can see what needs to be done to fix the item.

    -Is smoking allowed inside the properties?

    All of our properties have a no smoking inside policy. You can, of course, sit outside and smoke but please be considerate and not sit by the door for the smoke to blow inside and please clean up any cigarette mess.

    -Are visitors allowed?

    Please advise in advance if you will be having visitors as of course it depends on the size of property, how many visitors and reason for visit. Also some complexes' security need to know in advance.

    3. Now you are going

    -What time to leave the property?

    Check out is set at 10:00 hrs. Where possible if there are no other arrivals that day in the property, then of course we can accommodate a later check out, but this is not guaranteed until closer to the departure date. For some properties you can pay for a guaranteed later check out time.

    -Does anything need doing in the property?

    Please make sure all the rubbish has been thrown out in the bins outside and the apartment is reasonably clean and in reasonable order. It would be a lovely gesture if the beds were stripped .

    -How to give feedback?

    We love to receive feedback from all our clients - not only of our service and the property but of the places visited and food eaten. A few days after your departure we will be in touch with a few easy ways to give your feedback - straight on our website, on our facebook page, google plus page or via Spain Holiday or Holiday Lettings. You can of course email us directly too. Your comments/feedback really do benefit us as a small business in getting a larger clientele base and to improve our service. Thank you
